Your time is the most valuable thing you have and it is important that you don’t waste it. It’s alright if you take a break by watching some TV or taking a nap. Although doing things like that all the time and ignoring your responsibilities is not healthy. So in order to make sure that doesn’t happen to me I have to change a few things. First thing is waking up to the first alarm that I set. Many times when I hear my alarm go off in the morning I just turn it off cause I’m too tired but if I wake up as soon as it goes off and get my body moving I’ll have more time in the morning to do the things I need to work on. The next thing I need to do is make a schedule and stick to it. By doing this I already know what to do next and I don’t have to worry about forgetting anything important. Last but not least is to set time limits on every task I do. For example I have six school subjects so two of them could have a time limit of an hour this way I can take a short break after every two so I’m not stressed out and losing focus on my school work.
How I can control small expenses
This week I have started a course on personal finance and I have learned a lot so far one of those things being is how to save my money. Since I’m young and I don’t have to worry about things like bills or utilities I have more freedom on what I can spend my money on, but I don’t want to waste it. With my money I mainly buy beauty products, craft supplies, clothes, and room decor. Some of these are smaller items and can be avoided or controlled. I have many rules I like to use so I save my money for example when I go to the store I have a list and try to stick to it, but when I don’t I think about the purchase heavily on if I truly need it or want it. This works really well on most of the items I think about getting. Another way I control my small expenses is by looking for sales and places I could get it cheaper. I also like to see if the off brand of the product I’m getting is cheaper because most of the time the off brand and name brand are the same thing the only difference is the label. These are a few ways I save money on my small expenses I hope they can help you too.
Why Posting Essays Has Helped Me
If you have seen my blog before you would know I have been posting school essays for about 4 or 5 years on many different topics like historical events or books I have read. I post essays almost every week for school and they have helped me in numerous ways.
Over the years, I have become a better writer and you can see a difference from the first essay I ever posted to my more recent ones. Because I have been writing essays for so long I’ve gotten a lot of experience so when it comes to writing some thing like a college application essay it will be easier because I have been writing for so long. Another thing writing has benefited me with is my discipline and focus. When it comes to writing essays sometimes I don’t really want to do them and I just want to relax but of course I still have to do them which teaches me the discipline of doing something I don’t want to do. If I choose too continue writing essays after I graduate it can help me learn more about the world because I could do research on real world events that are going on at that time. These are only a few things essays have helped me with.
In His Steps Virginia giving Norman Money
I’m reading the book “In His Steps” which is about a group of people in a church who challenge themselves to do what they think Jesus would do before making any sort of decision for a whole year. Such as “should I study?”, “should I clean my room?”. It ranges from little to very big and important decisions, but no matter what they have to ask themselves the question “What Would Jesus Do?”.
Well now moving on to what this post is about two of the characters Norman and Virginia. Norman is the editor and publisher of the local paper who would advertise things like cigarettes and alcohol but ever since he started the challenge he had to take those things out of the paper which caused a popularity drop. He started losing money fast and became very poor. Well one of the other characters in the challenge is Virginia who is very wealthy and she had just received a large some of inheritance money. While most people would be happy to be in her position Virginia felt guilty and wanted to donate it to charity as well as doing good with it.
Virginia sees that Norman is in need and generously gives him $500,000. This was a wonderful thing to do and helped Norman, but she probably should have been smarter with it. I think this is a wonderful thing to do but I would want to know where my money is going and what it is going to be spent on. If I was Virginia, I would have asked Norman a few questions, or given him smaller amounts of money once a month that way it would be spaced out.
George W. Bush
George was born in July of 1946. He was the eldest son of George H. Bush who was the 41st president of the US. Him and his siblings were raised in Texas with his father’s oil company. George attended many high schools growing up, but finally went to boarding school in Massachusetts to finish his high school education. He spent two years in active duty and then was assigned to serve in Houston before he was honorably discharged in 1974.
In 1977 while George was at a backyard barbecue he met Laura Welch. After three months of dating they got married having twin girls Jenna and Barbara. George began his political career by running for the House of Representatives, but he was unsuccessful. He later ran for Governor of Texas in 1994 and won. He got the confidence to run for president in 1999 with his running mate Dick Cheney. He won the election and only 8 months into his presidency the September 11th terrorist attacks occurred. After these attacks George launched what he called the “War on Terror”, which was a war on Afghanistan and Iraq. These wars lasted a while and fully ended in 2014.

Ronald Reagan
Ronald was born in 1911, he was the son of Nelle Clyde and Jack Reagan. Ronald grew up poor but some how he always saw the good in people and was very optimistic. Since he was so kind he had always supported black people which was unusual at the time but he thought they should be treated the same. One time he saw a local hotel not letting black people stay the night so Ronald invited them to stay at his house where the next morning his mother even cooked breakfast for everyone. Ronald attended Dixon High School where he picked up hobbies like acting, sports, and storytelling. When he went off the college he was called a jack of all trades because he was a cheerleader, football player, and captain of the swim team. After college he moved to Iowa and became the announcer for the Chicago Cubs baseball games. While traveling with Cubs he took a screen test which ended up being in a contract with the Warner Brothers for the next 7 years.

He served for 7 years because he was reaching the limit of how long you could be in office. After suffering for 10 years with Alzheimer’s disease Ronald passed away at 93 in his home in California
Steve Jobs
In February 1955 Steve was born and was adopted at birth. Steve was very bright and when he was younger he was told by all of his teachers he could skip two grades although his parents only decided to skip one. Since he was younger he was bullied to the point where he gave his parents a choice to either pull him out of school and homeschool him or move to a better school district. Although Steves family was poor they scraped some money together and moved. During high school, a few things changed for Steve, and he was introduced to Steve Wozniak, who became his best friend. After graduation he went to Reed College for a year before dropping out and traveling the world for 3 years. After a while in 1974 Steve was asked to work on a project by the game company Atari. He excepted this offer and asked Wozniak to help him. They were successful in completing the project and were paid 5,000 dollars for it.
In 1976 Wozniak after working on the project with Steve created what he called the Apple 1 computer. He told this to Jobs and the two agreed to start Apple Computer Inc which was later shorted to Apple Inc. They had a major break through when he was incorporating graphic user interfaces into computers. In 1985 there was a dispute over the direction of how apple should be ran resulting in Jobs being kicked out. During his time away from Apple he created the company neXT which was later bought out by Apple so Steve got to come back to working for the company. He worked his way up back to CEO where he created many of the electronics we know and love today. He soon passed away in 2011 of pancreatic cancer
President Richard Nixon
Richard Milhous Nixon was born in California in 1913. He was the eldest of 5 children although 2 of his brothers died at a very young age. His family was extremely poor but that helped Richard build a dedication to hard work. When Richard was in high school he faced his first political loss when he lost the student body class president election. Nixon was a wonderful student and was offered a grant to attend Harvard but since it wasn’t a full ride he couldn’t go because it still cost to much money. Richard instead attended his local college. In college he became a master debater and gained a reputation for hard work. After he graduating Duke Law School offered him a full ride to complete a law degree. After earning his degree Richard decided to return to California to continue a career in law.
He joined a government job which he ended up quitting to join the Navy. Richard served in the Navy for roughly 4 years before leaving to accept a nomination for a seat on the California Congress. During this election Richard developed a tactic of condemning his opponent for possibly having communist connections. Tactics like these became a trademark for him. He won the election and continued to have great success throughout the 1950s. Richard was elected to Senate and when Dwight Eisenhower was running for President he chose Richard to help him gain votes so when Dwight won he became Vice President. After a while of being acting President he was nominated to run for president which he lost to JFK. He ran again in 1968 after leaving politics for 4 years. This time he was elected and was known for his foreign policy decisions.
John F. Kennedy
John was born 1917 making him the first president to be born in the 20th century. He grew up in Massachusetts with a wealthy family. He had 8 siblings and his family was well respected. He was sent to Connecticut where he attended high school. He ran a group of misbehaviors where he didn’t apply himself at all until after he graduated and moved on to attend Harvard. He had a successful life enjoying his family’s wealth and fame. While still at Harvard Johns personalty and family connections allowed to meet many European leaders. He graduated and joined the navy and commanded a small gunboat in the Pacific Ocean until he was discharged for a injury in 1945.
After leaving the Navy he turned to politics and joined the House of Representatives for 6 years before getting a spot on the Senate. A few years later he ran for president and won making him the youngest man to be elected at 43 years old. He and his wife Jacqueline were known for setting fashion trends as well as being big fans of the radio and television for spreading information. Even though John was a great public figure and succeeded in almost every thing he did in, his life ended tragically. John was assassinated in an open air limousine while driving in Dallas. He was shot and killed, and the murder was identified as Lee Harvey Oswald.
Joseph Stalin
Joseph was born in 1878 in the Russian Empire. He was enrolled in a Greek Orthodox school at a young age and made it into a seminary presumably wanting to be a priest. He ended up being expelled from seminary for missing his final exams, soon after he joined an early Russian Marxist political group under Vladimir Lenin. The empire around this time started to crack down on revolutionary ideas so Stalin went underground and committed to supporting the revolution. At this time there wasn’t a established group for what was going on but a few years later the Bolshevik party was organized under Lenin and Stalin joined pretty early even becoming Lenin’s favorite. While in this group he was caught and banished to Siberia multiple times but he managed to escape home every time. When the Bolshevik Revolution finally broke out 5 men were appointed to govern council who Stalin was apart of. After Lenin’s death it was clear he wanted power so slowly he consolidated all of the power to him by planning murders of all of his competitors.
Being dictator 1927-1939 were the most important parts of Stalins career. At this point Russia still wanted a Communist government and he wanted to prove he could be their leader. Well he became their leader and demanded he controlled as well as monitored everything. If anything seemed to westernizing it was destroyed immediately. One of Stalins goals were to purge the population of his political enemies, “inferior” races, and any solider he served under Tsar. This resulted in 1.5 million people killed, who were pretty much all innocent, and if you weren’t killed you were either deported or forced into hard labor. He killed around 60 million during his reign which is what he is remembered for.
