Snowy Owls

Snowy owls are true owls or typical owls. They live in the Arctic tundra, so they have a lot of feathers to keep them warm. Snowy owls are one of largest owl families. Snowy owls eat rodents, birds, and fish. They also have to compete for their prey with eagles, and the Peregrine falcons. They hunt in the day and the night to provide a good amount of food for their family. Adults can go 40 days without food. One way to tell the difference between a male and female is that a female has white spots all over its body.

The Owl

Owls are birds of prey. They are nocturnal so they have binocular vision. Binocular vision is when both eyes are used together to see one object. The great horned owl is the (tiger of the air). They don’t build their own nest, they move in to old nest. They can turn their heads 270 degrees and 90 degrees up and down! In captivity they can live over 30 years.

The Changes of Glass

The collapse of the Roman Empire lead to a wide variety of glass styles. During the Roman Empire there was only clear, thin glass available. With the collapse of the Roman Empire trade knowledge and skills diffused throughout Europe. The Europeans started making glass again and forest glass was created. Early forest glass was low-quality and wasn’t very pretty. Natron was a key ingredient in forest glass but its supply dried up around 700 AD. The Arabs advanced the old method of glass making. Then the people figured out they could make different shapes with glass or make colorful glass. They took colored glass and arranged it in patterns and pictures, which became known as stained glass. Stained glass is now used in art, churches, lamp shades (the most popular being Tiffany lamps) and backsplashes. Glass took a big role in history and glass has come a long way from sterile roman glass .

If A Lion walked In My House

I have five family members in my house my brother, my dad, my mom and my dog. There would many different reactions if a lion walked in to my house. My brother and I would most likely be terrified. My mom would take my brother and I through the back door or a window to get away. My dad has a shotgun in his closet for emergencies. He would try to go grab it and shoot the lion. I hope a lion or any dangerous animal never walks in my house.

My Favorite Invention

My favorite invention is the crane. I like the crane for many reasons one reason is I find them fascinating how they can just pick up a piece of land super easily. Cranes played a big part in making roads so we can get around easier. Cranes helped build many things such as houses, skyscrapers, theme parks, and many others. Cranes our very big so they can hold heavy items and build these things. Many people don’t think about how much cranes help us. A different form of a crane is a claw machine. It picks up the object and drops it some where else. There are different types of cranes such as the overhead crane, a loader crane, tower crane, mobile cranes and many others. Cranes are very fascinating to me and that is why cranes are my favorite invention.

If I Could Change Any Thing In The World

If I could change any thing in the world it would be that magic was real, because I think life would be so much easier. We could have a lot of stuff done for us such as ironing clothes, washing dishes, cleaning our rooms and many others. Magic can be fun but dangerous so if magic was real we would have to be very careful, for example in Harry Potter he fell off his magic broom and broke his arm. I think magic would be very fun because we could just make things out of thin air, we could make toys, food, electronics and many others. It would be amazing if magic was real because a lot of people could enjoy magic. This is why I want magic to be real.

Crows and Ravens

Its hard to tell the difference between crows and ravens. Well a way to tell the difference is that crows do a caw noise. Ravens make a croaking noise. There are many different types of crows and ravens. Here are a few American Crow, Northwestern Crow, The Common Raven, and many others. Ravens that live in the wild live 21 years. Crows live on the North America, so if you live on the North side of America try to look for a crow.
